Opening: Saturday, March 30, 2024, 12:00 – 16:00
The exhibition “Embrace Empathy: Exploring the Spectrum of Understanding” explores the significance of empathy in the arts and its impact on artistic research. It examines how artists, by adopting a more sustainable approach in their practice, can become more resilient against any kind of crisis. The “Embrace Empathy” exhibition explores the role of art as a means of unity and mutual understanding that promotes empathy and resilience. Twenty-six artists from six countries participate in the exhibition, including Dimitris Tzamouranis.
The exhibition is organized within the framework of the Vorres Museum’s participation in the EU co-funded two-year program, EMPACT – “Empathy and Sustainability: The Art of Thinking like a Mountain,”. This program brought together organizations from seven European countries that thoroughly investigated and studied the theme of empathy and sustainability in the arts through lectures, seminars, workshops, and an artistic program including residencies, exhibitions, and publications.
