Paper is easy and practical to work with, and can be manipulated with pencils, pens, brushes or scissors. It can be used as a medium for photographs and prints, drawings, watercolours, collages, gouaches and other techniques. These can be spontaneous or worked out in detail, delicate or powerful; the subject can be rendered with reduced strokes or thick paint. Paper, whether as a base or as a design medium, can be as varied in its composition as the art that is created on and with it.
The third and last part of our catalogue series Distance is dedicated to give an insight into the variety of works on paper from the 18th century until today.
