Lovis Corinth

* 21st July 1858 in Taipau, East Prussia
† 17th July 1925 in Zandvoort, Holland (NL)

Corinth, in addition to Liebermann and Slevogt was one of the most important German painters during the turn of the 20th Century. His œuvre combines academic tendencies, impressionism and the newly developed forms of expressionism. His work can be seen in the world’s most prominent museums.
