Giorgio de Chirico

De Chirico is considered to be the key practitioner of Metaphysical Painting (Pittura metafisica). He influenced Surrealism, New Objectivity (Neue Sachlichkeit), Magical Realism and many other artistic movements. In 1970 he received his first full scale retrospective in Milan and in Hannover. From 1974 he was a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
