LIVES AND WORKS IN COLOGNE (GER)

Astrid Klein is a German painter, graphic artists, designer and photographer. From 1973 until 1977 she studied at the Fachhochschule für Kunst und Design in Cologne. Since 1993 she has taught at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig and since 1998 she has been a member of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. In 1997 she received the Käthe-Kollwitz-Prize from the Akademie der Künste and in 2001 the KUNSTKÖLN prize (today the Cologne Fine Art Prize). Since the 1980s her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums.
